Richard Cook is one of 11 children born to the late John and Rosie Cook. He was born in Kershaw, SC.
He was educated in the Kershaw County school system and graduated salutatorian of his high school class.
In 1962 he relocated to Paterson, NJ.
Richard faithfully served our country in the United States Air Force from which he was honorably discharged.
Richard worked for the United States Postal Service for 32 years until he retired in 2001.
He is an active member of the St. Luke Baptist Church and serves as Chairman of the Trustee Ministry.
He is married to the former Mary Foster and they are the proud parents of Yolanda (and her husband Otis) and Tracy; and the proud grandparents of Isaiah, Imani and Jordan.
